Photo Announcements

Photo announcements are the way to go. It’s a great way to share information about your graduation, a celebration and update family on post-graduation plans. We offer the use of your senior portraits already taken, or schedule a new session with this purpose in mind. Perfect Eyes

We all love a photo where your eyes take center stage.  To emphasize your gorgeous eyes, sometimes less is more.  Too much makeup can actually do more to hide your eyes than emphasize them.  Find a happy balance of color, liner and mascara.  To begin, find a good eyeshadow color that suits your style and your eye color. Keep in mind that mattes work better in photos than shimmery or glittery shades.  Keep it simple with a single color on the eyelid area going into the crease.  Follow with a light shade as a highlighter on the brow bone. Eyeliner can help define your eyes, but don’t go overboard.  Keep it simple with a thin line along your lashes by using black or dark brown.  It’s ok to extend the liner beyond the corner of your eye, but steer clear of cat eyes and long extended eyeliner lines.  This will only focus the photo on your eyes instead of your entire face.  Finish off your look with a mascara that will thicken and lengthen your lashes without clumps.

Bring a jacket or sweater

It’s easy to forget how adding a simple jacket or sweater can change up your outfit.  Our favorite summer dresses are often sleeveless.  Have you ever tried to layer with a denim jacket?  Since we don’t encourage bare arms in a portrait, play around with this idea before your session. If you have your letter jacket, consider bringing that along with a pair of jeans and a t-shirt.

Bringing Pets

If you have a dog, a cat, a horse or any other type of animal that you want to include in your senior portraits let us know ahead of time.  Depending on the size of the dog, we may have some further information or we may need to plan around other animals coming in for their photo shoot! Most pets, like dogs, are pretty versatile and you can easily transport them to our studio.  And while we have had horses photographed in our outdoor garden studio, it may be best to schedule a location session and have our photographer come to you and your horse.  Your entire session can be done at this location or we can split it up into two sessions if you want the experience at our place too!)

Be aware of facial hair

A neatly groomed face is imperative no matter what your style.  We recommend you shave the day of, or even just before you leave home for the studio.  Stubble will show and can be costly to remove.  Bring your electric razor if you want some pics with and without.  And don’t forget about neck hair!
